The Frugal Ho Does Art!!!

Natasha_Bustier2

Just cuz I’m a Ho doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate art. The frugal side of me likes to see masterpieces on the cheap, hence…pay as you go days. I decided to go to the Craft and Folk Art Museum on Sunday, for the pay as you wish day. (Who needs to spend a full $7? When you can donate, say …$3???)

I was extra lucky to see an exhibit by a guy after my own heart, Clare Graham. He creates sculptures out of common household items, and even road-kill. We have a LOT in common, since my favorite answer is YES too!

My favorites were his cabinets. I couldn’t help thinking of my cubann ex, as I looked at this cabinet fashoined out of refurbished dominos.

The parents out there might appreciate the molar cabinet, made with human molars. If you follow Graham’s lead you can make works of art out of your kids first set of teeth when they come out, instead of hoping for the tooth fairy to come and whisk them away.

He even has an aswer for what to do with all of your used soda cans, he creates gorgeous furniture with it!

All in all, I loved the exhibition, and it was well worth the pay as you go rate. Matter of fact, here’s a listing of free and pay as you wish museums in L.A.
